Price: $49 (includes brush & mini smashbox mascara)
Overview: 14 eyeshadows- 7 matte 7 shimmer
duo sided brush- fluffy (for matte) flat (for shimmer)
First thoughts: I loved all the colors and I loved how there was half matte and half shimmer colors because most palettes just have like two mattes and the rest shimmer.
I swatched all these colors with my fingers w/no primer and they came out beautifully. The shimmers didn't have too much fall out and they were just as pigmented as the matte colors (something that seems to be a problem often times). The matter colors also were not chalky and didn't have a bunch of fall out either. I didn't dislike a single color in this palette I could totally see myself wearing every one of these.
HOWEVER, when using the brush or any other brush that I had the shimmery colors basically disappeared onto my lids. Even with a primer and even when I pushed at the palette the colors just would not transfer like they had when I used my finger. Which really honestly sucks because while using fingers for eye makeup is great on the go it isn't something that I wanted to do every time I had to use this palette. And also the matte colors were a lot harder to blend once they were on the skin which made them practically useless because what's the point of good pigmentation if it's just going to stay on the skin and not blend out. The sales person at Sephora told me to make my brush wet before applying the sparkly shadows and it did seem to work but I still felt like I had to dig at the colors and that just seems like such a hassle and I wanted just an easier palette to use.
I loved the fluffy side of this brush because it worked really well at blending all other eye shadows that I had and it was super soft and perfectly dense. The flat sided part (both sides) was so-so not so great but it was nice considering most brushes in eye palettes are usually so-so anyways.
FINAL VERDICT: Returned, this is the same price as the Two Faced Chocolate Bar palette (which I will be buying and reviewing soon) which has much higher ratings on sephora. Or spend a couple extra bucks and go for a Naked palette.
