Clarisonic Acne Brush Head + Cleanser Duo First Impression

General Overview

$47 at Nordtroms: brush head alone is $25 and cleanser alone is $27

Out with the old (regular brush head) and in with the new!

As you can see the old brush head was getting a bit gray and honestly gross, seriously just look at how different the whites are on the two brushes!

Of course it comes with the handy dandy brush cover for when you want to take your clarisonic on the go. But because of the holes in it I wouldn't suggest just plopping this into any pocket in your bag because dirt could still get in.
The bristles on this brush are noticebly softer than the the normal brush and even the sensitive brush. Keep in mind the normal brush is actually for "normal/resilient skin and men" and acne users should be extra careful not to irritate their skin further with any harsh scrubbing. So with that in mind, the bristles provide a much softer and smoother wash than the other two brushes that I have used. As for the color scheme I like it, it looks fresh and clean but besides that I see or feel no difference or benefit with the color difference.

Now for the actual face wash!

For acne sufferers (like myself) the 2% salicylic acid in this face wash is going to be the primary attacker on those pesky little (or in my case, not so little) zits. It is strictly a cleanser and has no itty bitty micro scrubs or anything that is meant to exfoliate, I actually find the actual clarisonic to be an exfoliator in of itself.

As with any time using my clarisonic I always use a pre face wash just to get rid of all my foundation and other makeup and I use just the good old fashion hand method for this and I mainly do this so my brushes don't get as dirty with makeup gunk as fast and also to allow my brushes full access to my bare skin versus having to battle through gob of foundation and whatnot. When trying this out I went ahead and cleansed my face with Bliss' foaming face wash (which can be found at Sephora and Ulta). After that I put a a little less than a quarter size amount straight onto my clarisonic then proceeded to wash my face. Right away I like the scent, it's fresh and the fragrance is not overbearing (something that I HATE with some face washes) and it's very smooth. It foams but not too much, all in all it seems like a pretty basic face wash. Afterwards I just followed up with my every night face lotion and eye cream. Right away I noticed that some of the bumps on my skin appeared a bit flatter but I don't expect to see any huge results for another two weeks so that's when I'll post a follow up!

I got mine at Nordstroms but you can easily find these in Sephora!
