Lush: Volcano Foot Mask

Directions say: "apply a thick coating to your whole foot (do both). Wrap them in plastic to keep the product from drying out. Leave for 10 minutes. Unwrap your feet and rub the mask into any areas of dead skin for a few minutes then rinse off". 

I bought this foot mask for my mom because she has really hard calloused feet and I thought it'd be nice for her to relax with this on and have smoother feet. So far she's used it twice and she said she hasn't seen a difference- then again my mom is the more busy type and I doubt she would have been looking hard for evidence in a change in her feet. So I decided to give it a try, I didn't do as thick of a coating as I normally would have because I did buy this as a gift for my mom. I also left it on for 20 minutes instead of the 10 minutes it suggests because why not? During that time didn't feel like the mask was very relaxing or soothing or anything like that. It smells a little spicy/cool? You know that feeling in your nose when you smell something really minty and it's really cool, it has that kind of smell but in a spicy way. I can't even really compare the smell to anything else besides that. It is very very thick and it will dry on your fingers so work quickly when putting it on your feet. After that I unwrapped the plastic bags and rubbed the mask into my feet until it started flaking off and it was all off, it left just a gray aftercolor on my feet. After rinsing and drying and every thing I didn't feel like my feet were anymore soothed from the "ice cool foot mask" that it claims to be. However I did notice that my skin on my feet did look smoother and it felt smoother on the bottom. On my heel where it is the roughest there wasn't a huge difference but I bet if you did this multiple times + some scrubs it would help soften heels. As for the deodorizing claim, I don't have very smelly feet normally so there isn't much I can say on that.

Overall:

Price: The 11oz one is $22.95 and it does not show any prices for the smaller sizes online but I got the 4.4 oz one and so far it has been through 3 uses and could stand to go for 1 or 2 more. I don't remember the price exactly but I don't think it was more than $10 so I would have to say pretty good price. 

Relaxing: 2/10

Smell: I don't mind the strong smell nor did I love it so 6/10

Serve its purpose?: Deodorizing: N/A   Softening: 8/10 

Would I buy again?: I might try it again just to try it in a few months once this is empty
